vector 4-axis machining
vector 4-axis simultaneous machining is used for a variety of machining processes:
- Lathe with powered tools
- Milling with rotary table or indexing table
- Tubular laser cutting
- Machining using multiple axis cradles
- etc.
First the geometry of products has to be imported or modelled with Vector. The resulting contours can then be wrapped onto a cylinder or unwrapped. Other projection features are a standard part of the 3D system. All Microsoft fonts can be engraved onto a cylinder. The 4th and 5th axis output is then generated using one of the additional postprocessors.

PostprocessorThe Postprocessors of Vector can be used for generation of A-, B- or C-Axis data. Using a variety of settings the interpolation of the axis movements can be adjusted for any machine control. Curved and or flat surfaces are automatically detected by the software. For instance in flat surfaces the rotational axis must remain fixed whereas on a curved surface it must keep the tool perpendicular to the surface and thus the axis must move at all times.
NC-EditorAn integrated Editor was developed specially for CNC programs. Find and replace, cut and paste are the standard features. Specific functions enhance efficiency such as renumbering, and color coding showing rapid moves and plunges in red and other text such as tools in a color. Also sending and receiving programs to and from the machines is included.
Size and font of the text can be selected and these settings will be remembered for each user. Using color for specific moves provides verification and safety for the operators.
